Adopting a healthy diet will help you live longer. A healthy diet makes for strong bones and muscles, as well as maintaining your nails, skin, and hair. Try out these nutrition tips to improve your overall health.

One way to help your body heal faster from sickness is to eat a diet high in zinc. Zinc can boost immune system health, make you recover from illness quicker, and prevent future illness. Strawberries, peaches, pumpkin seeds, and wheat germ are all good sources of zinc. An added bonus to these foods is that they also contain antioxidants which help to fight free radicals.

Get restful sleep and drink less alcohol daily. You will find that if you don’t follow that advice, your pores will get larger and your face will get more oily. When your pores get larger, they’re more susceptible to acne-causing infections and dirt. Aim for at least seven full hours of sleep every night. Also, limit your alcohol intake to a single serving, if any.

To decrease your chances of depression in a natural way, eat foods which have Vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 plays a key role in moderating your serotonin levels and serotonin plays a big part in fending off depression. Chicken breast, asparagus and wheat germ are all foods that contain high levels of vitamin B6. Consuming B6 rich foods is especially important during the winter.

If you have sleep issues, it may be helpful to make some dietary adjustments. Some foods are great for an energizing boost, while others can help your mind and body relax. Eat your dinner a few hours before you go to sleep.
