This little volume is a terrific starter for those of us interested in using herbal and home remedies but not yet very knowledgable about these. I had read bits and pieces elsewhere about properties of ginger, lavender, apple vinegar, etc., but usually after googling each malady or each herb separately. I would also suggest that the author provide more information as to how the reader can know if, for example, honey is pasteurized or not. Are there health regulations that mandate this information for commercial sale of these products? But all in all, this is a good and very helpful, starters’ compendium.

My very strong recommendation is that the author find a competent proofreader or copyeditor to go over the text with a fine-tooth comb to correct the countless errors, like using ‘it’s’ when ‘its’ is needed and vice-versa (throughout), punctuation errors, spelling errors, and plain old grammar mistakes. All can be easily and painlessly corrected–but as the text now stands, these mistakes take away from the overall usefulness and credibility of the information.

Short book, read in about 90 minutes. Just enough to whet your appetite. Would have appreciated some sources for further research as she frequently recommended.

This is a great introduction to home remedies. I am a firm believer that drugs and surgeries are way over prescribed. If you are looking to reconnect with mother nature, this may be a good place to start.
