  1. That’s a bit of an oversimplification. While you’re correct that 1g per 1 pound of total bodyweight is likely sufficient, it would be inaccurate to claim that protein substantially higher than that is going to hurt you, up to a limit of 3g per 1kg of total bodyweight as cited in several studies.

It won’t necessarily HELP you that much, but it will certainly keep satiety, (for example, people who have lost a great deal of weight yet retained their appetites may favor this approach).

  2. Im huge without steroids and eating only once a day, while simultaneously training every muscle group every day…against all the lab coat science and trench rules. It takes a warriors instinct and heart to get huge without sissy shortcuts everyone else takes.

  3. Hee Ric I have question for you. I saw many videos and they are awesome but I have a question about the sunday all you can eat day you guys had back in the days. During the week (mon-sat) you ate very clean and low carb, and then sunday was eat everything you could get your hands on. Where there times when you ate very clean mon-sun? Because I am curious what that brought you in terms of gains/ mental state? Maybe in some way that sunday all you can eat was also very good for your body?? Thanks!

  4. He ate a shitload of meat and STEAK. I highly doubt he had 50g of fat. It was probably wayyy more cause there is no way he could measure how much fat he was getting in steak

  5. I did nutrition in uni and my teacher said 1g of protein us enough the rest is secreted or stored as fat . Most bodybuilding information is bro science

  6. I dont care if someone is natural or enhanced but 400 grams of protein out of 2600 cals!! No thanks I don’t feel like giving birth everytime I go sit on the toilet!

  7. A natural weight lifter cannot take in that much protein. If you weight 200lbs you can digest and use 200 grams. Much more than that is too hard on the system. You can still make gains with 200 grams of protein. We don’t need rediculous amounts.

  8. A natural weight lifter cannot take in that much protein your body will only use so much. If you weight 200 lbs 200 grams is enough to still make gains it just is anymore and it’s too hard in the system

  9. ric, when the BBs take in these huge amounts of protein (surge nubret claimed he ate 800g a day), is that because they juiced? if juicing increases the bodies ability to synthesize protein then that would increase the ceiling of effectiveness of protein for muscle building, i hear for natural, the ceiling is like 0.7g per lb of bw, so i would imagine on juice 2x,3x bw would make a difference.

    or am i wrong?

  10. I always thought that I am living in the wrong time period. I would love to have been a bodybuilder in the 70’s. Beautiful aesthetic builds based on symmetry rather than just the mass monsters today.

  11. Ric, i remember Joe Weider telling Peter Grymkowski to stay away from the ice cream shops and hanging with Waller when Joe was advising Grymko on his comp. training

  12. Raw does not render the food innately better. Fats and proteins are denatured by cooking making them less digestible. Cellulose and starch are broken down in the cooking process rendering plant foods more digestible. Cooking a food at the lowest possible temperature is optimal as it preserves nutrients. It is good to have variety. Since cooked and raw alter the balance of available nutrients, eat both!

  13. I don’t know if you might consider the speaker in this video a ‘cultist’ but he does recommend to eat eggs raw or at least cook them less. He says he eats raw eggs in his smoothies, as he states several times. He also recommends the same for meat, eating it raw if it is high quality and rare if it is not so high quality. The idea of raw milk is easier for people to accept, I think, because it looks and tastes the same(or very close) as cooked milk.

  14. I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds that a little arbitrary. If you’re going to promote raw milk, why not promote raw food in general? Raw milk advocates tell us that various nutrients and enzymes in milk are destroyed after heating. Why should other foods be any different?

  15. This man happens to be very wise and well spoken..You on the other hand are the crazy one. Check your grammar before commenting on ANYTHING.

  16. ok, here why is this men crazy… first you shouldnt dring raw milk, that is apsurd. Second fruits should be eaten before meal. Not go and kill yourself doctor or what are you…

  17. I always do think what I like, don’t need your permission. I have a science degree thanks. And we only got onto dairy proteins because of your raising of the China study and its pseudo-scientific conclusion that animal proteins are unhealthy.

Whenever people state “correlation is not causation” on youtube they usually ignore the fact that “correlation is evidence of causation” it is necessary even if it is not sufficient.

    Bye.

  18. 2. This point was about dairy […] You think that B/H-AMLET prove milk is somewhat miraculous or automatically healthy. I asked you for proof and you came up with that stuff -which is laughable. I provided the example of swine flu to make you understand your reasoning is unsound (correlation doesn’t mean causation), but you don’t understand what I am talking about once again. Get a science degree.

Meanwhile, think whatever you want to. Bye.

  19. 1. I didn’t bash veganism. I just stated the fact that no culture ever ate that way for many generations.

Pick the claim made in the video that you most object to.

  20. 1. Still have no idea what you are talking about.
    2. What have vaccines got to do with food. Vaccine studies are shorter than food studies, so why would I think they are safe.
    3. I found many supporting papers, how about you pick one supporting your view. The bibliography of the supporting papers referenced many more studies confirming the the fact that HAMLET/BAMLET induce apoptosis in certain cancer cell lines.

They are not my claims, they are multiple confirmed peer reviewed studies.

  21. I didn’t make that argument, why do you put words in my mouth? Of course, if you are unable to be healthier, stronger, sleep much less and recover much faster from hard exercise on a vegetal diet you probably shouldn’t consume it. Am I pushing a vegan diet? No. I criticized the pseudo-scientific advice in the video. I think you are plainly confused and historically mislead. Again, eat whatever you want but stop bashing things you clearly don’t know nor understand.

  22. 1. No, it wasn’t a diatribe, learn about language fallacies. You make about 2+ per reply.
    2. Thus -according to you- a vaccine synthesized from swine flu proves swine flu is a healthy and nutritious product? You confuse the whole for the part: it is a *fallacy of composition*.
    3. Take the time to read ACTUAL scientific papers i.e., Check out “scholar (dot) google (dot) com” not plain google and search “raw milk cancer” “bamlet hamlet” you’ll find lots of PAPERS contradicting your claims.

  23. IF a diet works for 70% of people, does that mean the 30% who got no benefit should continue with it? Studies often do not form a comprehensive body of information. merely answer specific questions.

Ultimately what works for an individual is what counts. If veganism makes you happy, roll with until is doesn’t.

  24. 1. The first part of your response was confused diatribe, please clarify.
    2. Benefits of dairy:
Google : BAMLET AND HAMLET — A New Play or a Cure for Cancer? referenced studies are at the bottom.
    3. Google “CLA Basics” got to the Raw-milk-facts website page of the same name. First paragraph links to a whole page of studies on Conjugated Linoleic Acid.

Finally science is only a guide, it can’t pick your diet, only give guidance.
    (continued)

  25. Correlation doesn’t mean causation. By the way that peculiar (science diffusion i.e., NOT science) book does NOT make the argument just on Casein and already answers what you are talking about. Read it!. I AM EAGER TO KNOW about this studies on the benefit of dairy (I hope they are not “observed” mumbo jumbo but hard science) PS://Save the ad hominem, religious delusion isn’t my thing -that’s why I AM ASKING YOU for scientific papers of interest (links to papers, books) not your dietetic taste.

  26. People across the globe have been eating animal protein as long as there have been people.
So why is the poison only killing the processed junk eating inhabitants of the world.
Stand outs like the Amish in the US eat meat and dairy yet have significantly lower cancer rates than typical Americans.

Price also observed low cancer rates in Switzerland, among Inuits and in the pacific before the arrival of modern foods.

I enjoy raw plants, it just isn’t a religion for me.

  27. Plants good -> Animals bad. Casein gives you cancer. Did I miss anything.
Oh yes, the way campbell generalises from casein to all animal proteins with no good evidence.
And by implication to all animal nutrients including cholesterol which cannot be obtained from plants.

Ignoring the studies linking dairy kefir to longevity, and cancer inhibiting properties of CLA, Vitamin D, and alpha lactalbumins.

    (Continued)

  28. 1. How much of that hard research factored in fat soluble vitamins like A,D.E and K. Very little I suspect since we are just now understanding their synergistic effects. My might want to look into that. Specifically cancer prevention, calcium utilisation and protein metabolism.

    2. Simple fact is no culture is known to have maintained health over many generations eating only plant food. No point debating it, neither you or I will live to see the outcome.

  29. 2. Fact: The truth is you don’t know what the facts from The China Study are and it is obvious you didn’t read it (or understand it) either: There is a solid case against animal protein (and I don’t mean in moderation). It is casein which has been demonstrated risky again and again (not the load of chemical crap). Of course, you can believe that a life expectancy of 30 years is a model to live by and that pasteurization was invented to kill people if you want to keep your ideology and practices.
